Action Research Papers – Writing Research to Be in Literary Action
Action research papers are the final assignments before a Masters degree in education is granted to students of Arts. The main rationale for writing action research papers is to enable teachers to integrate Christian values and ethical principles in their educational practice, so that they can serve as active agents of change in society.
Completion of the action research paper is a major criterion for the successful completion of the Master of Arts program in Education; as such, students should prepare their action research paper according to the specified guidelines.
- Prepare the proposal for the action research paper stating the rationale for study
- The proposal of the action research paper should not include a detailed literature review
- The actions research proposal should however state the research population and the number of subjects likely for the study. You should also state your criteria for selecting the subjects.
- The next point of focus of your action research paper should be the experiments and research procedures used for the study. In case you plan to include questionnaires, include copies of these in your action research paper.
- If there are any potential risks to the subjects, you should clearly mention these in your action research paper proposal. Even if the potential for risks is low as compared to the benefits, explain these in detail.
- Clearly explain the procedures you will be using for accumulating information from your subjects. Describe the confidentiality measures and security procedures you will be adopting to protect your subjects.
- Finally, state the procedure you will be using to gain informed consent. You will need to state the exact words you will use to inform your subjects of the nature of the study, for seeking their consent.
